Goals: The SG Foundation Board of Trustees meets at variable intervals but usually every one or two months to review proposals ready for board discussion. We favor programs that help the poorest of the poor to help themselves. Long term development solutions to poverty are preferred as we would rather teach a person to fish than provide the fish as a gift. Relief grants which satisfy a short-term need without clear future benefits are rarely awarded. Additionally, specific geographic areas and guidelines have been established for grant consideration.
Please see our History section for examples of past grants and thoroughly review our Grant Focus Area and Proposal Guidelines sections before proceeding if you are interested in submitting a grant request.
Note: All requests must be from a qualified 501(c)(3) organization based in the United States whether or not their programs are international.
